Classic goes to NAMM 2009
Warmth & Energy!
The NAMM Show is the largest music products trade show in United States. Held every January in Anaheim, California, USA the show brings together all facets of the music products industry to reveal new musical instruments/products.
There are 2 reasons Darryl & Bernard go to NAMM.
#1 It’s warmer in California
#2 To see where the energy is in the music biz and bring that back to our clients
It’s amazing how much change has taken place in 1 year. Ironically, the biggest impact on the music industry has come from outside − from the Video Game industry; Guitar Hero, Rock Band etc. − these have outstripped music sales and are leading kids to taking up the actual instruments! Music is transferring from the elitist to the kid next door where everyone can enjoy and while no one has created Keyboard Hero there are some major changes happening with Keyboards.
Interestingly, Yamaha has created the Avant Grand. In their literature Alexander Kobrin, Concert Pianist says, "...that’s why I would suggest this piano, with its fixed constant standards, might be a better choice when starting out than an acoustic grand piano in anything but perfect condition." The instrument utilizes Spatial Acoustic Sampling and a Spatial Acoustic Speaker System, as well as a Soundboard Resonator and Tactile Response System. It’s bang-on in tune and acoustically suits the room. It relates to thoughts we have been formulating here at Classic, ‘Of course a natural pipe organ is the ultimate - in perfect condition and in the right the acoustical environment.’
The future of music is in our young people and instruments need to be accessible, affordable and fun to play. Music is a shared experience! We welcome your ideas. Thank you.
